The Australia Pavilion has marked an extraordinary milestone today, welcoming its two millionth visitor since opening its doors to the public on 13 April 2025.
The lucky visitor was greeted at the pavilion entrance by Commissioner General for Australia, Nancy Gordon and Koko the Koala, the pavilion’s beloved mascot, who presented them with the very first brand-new Koko collector’s pin to commemorate the occasion.
A Celebration of Australia’s Global Appeal
Reaching two million visitors in under four months is a testament to the pavilion’s outstanding popularity at the Expo. Crowds from across the globe have been drawn to the acclaimed “Chasing the Sun” exhibit, an immersive journey that invites audiences to explore Australia’s deep connection to land, sky, and sea.

Inside the pavilion, visitors embark on a one-of-a-kind multisensory adventure, following the sun as it travels across Australia. Guests are transported through diverse landscapes:
- Hearing the calls of unique Australian fauna.

- Immersing themselves in vibrant underwater environments.
A key highlight of the experience is the celebration of First Nations’ connection to Country, showcasing tens of thousands of years of cultural knowledge and how this wisdom can help shape a sustainable future society.
Forecourt Stage: A Cultural Showcase
Beyond the main exhibition, the pavilion forecourt has come alive with a rich cultural program. Visitors have experienced the very best of Australian creativity, cuisine, and performance, including:
- Cooking demonstrations from acclaimed chefs such as Nornie Bero, highlighting native Australian ingredients.
