Boomerang and Spear: Noongar-led Dance Performance

Boomerang and Spear

Experience a high-energy dance performance produced by Boomerang and Spear – an award-winning Indigenous creative team from Western Australia. Led by Noongar language activists and artists, their work is grounded in the language and traditions of the Noongar people of the southwest. Expect a powerful fusion of movement, storytelling and culture, celebrating survival, revival and connection to Country.

Radical Son: Voice of Resistance and Resilience

Radical Son (David Leha), of Kamilaroi and Tongan heritage, brings his commanding voice and dynamic presence to the pavilion stage. His emotionally charged music blends soul, hip-hop and social commentary, giving voice to lived experience and cultural identity. Don’t miss his performances featuring songs from his latest album, Bilambiyal (2024).

Kirrikin: Pop-Up Indigenous Fashion Runway

See culture come to life on the runway. Kirrikin, a luxury Indigenous fashion label, presents bold, contemporary designs that fuse First Nations art with ethical fashion. Showcasing works by Aboriginal artists, this special runway event celebrates identity, creativity, and the beauty of storytelling through textile design.

Island Stars offers a rare opportunity to witness the merging of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditions. Nornie Bero: Flavours of the Torres Strait

Nornie Bero

Island-born chef Nornie Bero, from the Komet Tribe of the Meriam people, will delight Expo visitors with native food demonstrations and dishes that place Indigenous ingredients centre stage. As CEO of Mabu Mabu and a passionate advocate for native food sovereignty, Nornie’s culinary storytelling is both bold and delicious. She joins forces with an Ainu chef in a powerful cross-cultural collaboration during the week.
