The Australia Pavilion at World Expo 2025 Osaka has officially welcomed its one millionth visitor - an incredible milestone that was celebrated in true Aussie style - with big smiles and even bigger lamingtons.
Since opening, the pavilion has drawn visitors from across the world with its vibrant Chasing the Sun experience — an immersive journey through Australia’s beautifully diverse landscape.
Greeted by Commissioner-General for Australia, Nancy Gordon, the lucky guest enjoyed a personal tour of the pavilion, before joining Koko the Koala on stage, where they marked the moment by cutting a giant lamington cake.

But the milestone was about more than a number. It marked a moment to pause and celebrate the powerful stories being shared, the cultural bridges being built, and the global friendships formed under the pavilion’s canopy here in Osaka.
“Our theme, Chasing the Sun, is all about sharing Australia’s warmth, creativity, and diversity with the world. Your presence here today is a reminder of the incredible connections being made across cultures and continents. Thank you for being part of our story and for helping us reach this remarkable moment," said Nancy Gordon.

With months still to go at World Expo 2025 Osaka, the Australia Pavilion team is looking forward to welcoming many more guests, sharing new performances and programs, and continuing to bring a little piece of Australia to Osaka every day.
