This year, the 104-year-old airline is celebrating 90 years of international services, having first operated between Australia and Japan in the late 1940s, and today has an international network spanning 56 routes to 34 destinations and 25 countries around the world. 

Qantas at World Expo 2025 Osaka

Qantas is proud to be an official Partner of the Australia Pavilion at World Expo 2025 and will be supporting travel for dozens of Australian representatives and performers to and from Japan during the six-month period.

Qantas operates four daily flights to Tokyo and is the only carrier connecting Japan’s megacity with the three largest Australian cities – Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. From December 2025, the Flying Kangaroo will also be launching services between Sydney and Sapporo, providing travellers with the only nonstop connection between Australia’s largest city and the incredible sights and snow of Hokkaido.
