About Metala & Killibinbin Wines
Metala is a family owned and run, 5th Generation wine producer and is one of Australia’s most enduring brands. The original Shiraz and Cabernet vineyards were planted in 1891 by current custodian Guy Adams’ Great, great grandfather. The Shiraz are the oldest in Langhorne Creek and the Cabernet are the oldest family owned Cabernet vines in the world.
Killibinbin, a sub-brand of Metala, continues the tradition of producing high quality wines, but takes it up a notch by redefining the art of wine labels. Every bottle has a label telling a story, sparking creativity, imagination and conversation. Killibinbin is a beautiful word of the Kaurna language which means “to shine and be bright”.
Metala & Killibinbin Wines at Expo 2025 Osaka
Metala & Killibinbin Wines are sponsoring an innovative Rosé based frozen cocktail for use in Café Koko at the Australia Pavilion.

Their Killibinbin Sweet Lips Frosé uses a high-quality Australian wine to create a refreshing frozen cocktail. This innovative beverage is designed to attract a broad consumer base, enhance the wine industry’s market reach, and provide a sustainable and responsible drinking option. By creating this innovative product, they aim to engage a broad range of demographics, increasing the reach of Australian wines. As a small family owned business we have environmentally responsible practices at our heart right throughout the supply chain to minimise waste. The wine is estate grown and made, reducing our carbon footprint.
They hope Killibinbin will be seen as an exciting, aspirational brand and introduce Australian wine to a broad range of demographics.
